Tamara A. Okoli is a strong oral advocate who has a knack for defending companies, large and small.  She became a lawyer to effectuate change, and while she settles cases outside of court when possible, she enjoys being in the courtroom.

Tamara practiced at a boutique employment litigation firm in Charlotte and later gained broader insurance defense experience at a Charlotte insurance defense firm prior to joining Hedrick Gardner. Today, she practices in the firm’s civil litigation practice group defending a wide variety of clients.

Valuing community service, Tamara can regularly be found serving others. Some of her proudest achievements include raising funds to assist in the building of a plaque of the late Julius Chambers, a civil rights giant in Charlotte and hosting and moderating a town hall discussion between the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department and members of the legal community to openly discuss the passing of house bill 972 (NC body worn camera law).

When she is not busy defending her clients, Tamara enjoys high-fashion and photography, traveling, spending time at the beach or lake with family and friends, and being outdoors.
