Biography

As a Partner in Hedrick Gardner’s Raleigh office, Ashley’s practice focuses on workers’ compensation. She defends employers, carriers, self-insured employers and third-party administrators in claims involving injury by accidents and complex occupational diseases. She is experienced at all levels of workers’ compensation litigation including mediations, hearings, medical depositions and Full Commission hearings. She also provides continuing education courses, as requested by clients, on a variety of relevant workers’ compensation topics.  She is also an active member of the North Carolina State Bar, North Carolina Bar Association, North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys and Wake County Bar Association.

Ashley graduated magna cum laude from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law.  While at Campbell, she was a member of the Law Review, Order of the Barristers, the National Civil Trial Team and the Lone Star State Trial Team.  She also served as Advertising Editor of the Campbell Law Observer.  She remains active with Campbell Law School by judging moot court competitions, participating in client counseling and serving as a guest speaker for mediation advocacy classes.

A native of North Carolina, Ashley grew up in a military family. When she is not working, she is an avid swimmer and runner, having competed in several triathlons, half marathons, and the Marine Corps Marathon.  She has a personal goal of completing a half-Ironman.
