Tom is a partner in the firm's Raleigh office.  He is involved in a wide variety of complex commercial litigation matters, including construction litigation, employment issues, small business dissolution, enforcement of and defense against claims under covenants not to compete, commercial and residential landlord/tenant disputes and lease negotiations, partnership disputes, unfair trade practice claims, community associations and real estate disputes. He also maintains an active general liability practice, defending motor vehicle, premises liability and products liability cases and advising carriers on coverage issues.

•  Defended regional luxury homebuilder in case of case of subcontractor's employee's catastrophic injury and resulting quadriplegia.
• Prosecuted binding arbitration for caisson-drilling subcontractor in delay case involving bridge construction delayed by, among other things, weather and high water on river.
• Defended contractors, landowners, and property managers against claims of alleged exposure to Chinese drywall, mold, and lead paint exposure.
• Defended real estate agency against claims by former agent for rights to profit sharing and other benefits vesting after date of termination.
